They formed to help animals in
Oklahoma find proper placement. Even though Oklahoma has a large number of animal rescues, too many of them are always full
and turn people away who need help finding a home for their pet or
a stray they have been caring for. And not to
turn anyone away who is in need of help. Small rescues by listing their animals online for FREE to help them place animals
faster. We also provide help to those who work with wildlife in Oklahoma. Finding proper release sites and sometimes homes
if the animal is not able to be returned to the wild.

Pet Assistance and Welfare Society (PAWS)
PAWS (Pet Assistance
& Welfare Society, Inc.) is a 501(c)3 organization that formed in mid-2000. PAWS was put together by a small group of
volunteers that had been volunteering at the Tulsa Animal Shelter. These volunteers saw a need to be able to raise funds to
help some of the animals at the shelter and to put in place a low cost and free spay/neuter clinic to help alleviate Tulsa's
serious pet overpopulation problem. They weren't able to do this in their current Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) capacity,
so they formed PAWS.

Shelter Friends is a group of volunteers developed
in 1999 under the Volunteers in Police Service (V.I.P.S.) program. There are many things that Shelter Friends volunteers
can do to help at the Tulsa Animal Shelter: Help with the PAWS/Shelter low cost spay/neuter program . Help prospective adopters find the right animal for their lifestyle
Foster animals in your home until they are old enough for adoption Bathe/brush the adoption animals. Help with vaccinations/tests, etc. for the adoption animals Walk adoption dogs and general socialization of adoption animals. Keep information on cage cards up to date
